Children's Milk teeth are very important because they not only help in chewing and speaking but also maintain space for permanent teeth which is developing underneath. Milk teeth are the pathway for the permanent teeth to grow. A milk tooth usually stays until a permanent tooth replaces it. Unfortunately some children lose their teeth at an early age. This causes adjacent teeth to move in place of the fallen teeth there by causing crowding. This can be prevented by the use of space maintainers. It is more affordable and easier to keep teeth in normal position rather than going in for the orthodontic treatment at a later age.
